Replacement & Installation Guide

When replacing bearings, note the bearing dimensions: ID × OD × Width (e.g. 6001 = 12×28×8mm). Clean the bearing seat thoroughly before pressing in the new bearing. Use a proper bearing press tool — never strike directly on a bearing race with a hammer. Apply a thin film of grease to the outer race before installation. Replace bearings in pairs (both sides of an axle) for consistent rolling resistance.

Ceramic vs. Steel

Ceramic balls offer lower rolling resistance and longer service life but come at a premium. For most riders, high-quality steel bearings with proper maintenance provide excellent performance. Ceramic is most beneficial in bottom brackets and wheel hubs where bearing loads are highest.
